Check for damaged caps

Got a good discount on these as there was an overpack offer due to damaged packaging. I looked at the glue sticks before removing them, but not carefully, until I pulled one out to use and found three with cracked caps and the glue inside completely dry. When you order them, be sure to check the caps and make sure they aren't damaged.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Compatibility

Extra strong is stronger. but it's pretty good

I ordered different glue sticks for a small book project. There's a difference. This regular Elmers All Purpose fits but does not stick on first use. I make miniature books, so there's not a lot of stress. He did his job but found a few corners that needed redoing. Otherwise fast smooth processing, order was correct. It used to be "better" but now other Elmers products are better. There will be many more applications.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Functionality

Take school glue! It's terrible.

This is literally the worst glue I have ever used. I've been doing a lot of crafting in my time and I teach young children who do a lot of crafting. Better use washable school glue sticks! It dries faster so you almost never have time to actually place your parts, and if you apply it in time it won't stay glued if the finished product moves AT ALL, even after it's had enough time to rest. It's pretty funny.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Thin

I 3D print a lot with PLA and my desktop is a PEI coated flexible metal plate that gets magnetized on my print bed. It's a great system for removing impressions when they're done, but it's not very sticky and impressions can be easily chipped off when not being taken to help the impression adhere better. Stove and this problem is wonderfully solved. Wipe the adhesive off the build plate with a damp cloth between uses to keep it smooth for consistent prints. The thick sticks quickly cover a…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

Printing from PLA - they work fine for me.

Short story: You suit me. Adhesion seems a bit stronger than the "washable" kind, but I've had no problem getting my projects off the bed and my glass platform cleans up just as easily as the "washable". If you're printing thin, thin (low Z) projects, you might have trouble detaching them cleanly, but you shouldn't be using a glue stick anyway. Glass at 60°C and almost always with a glue stick to minimize the risk of printing errors due to sticking problems on the table. So far I've only used…
