Good size but quite heavy. The fabric can be cotton as described, but if it is cotton it will not be soft or comfortable. It's pretty stiff and very uncomfortable. The description says "washable", the instructions that came with it say it can be washed but not tumble dried. Possible dry cleaning. I can't remember how much I paid, but no matter what the cost, I wouldn't do it again. I'm not usually hard to please, but this leaves a lot to be desired. I spent several weeks looking for a duvet before deciding on this one. I read so many reviews and even though many of them were 4.5 stars it seemed like the bad stars were REALLY bad. I didn't want to risk it. You get what you pay for. A $20 blanket isn't going to be big. A $300 blanket would be very luxurious. But it's the next best thing. The price is great for the quality. This duvet is lightweight yet will keep you warm. I've slept with it on warm nights and cool nights and it does the job.
