We installed a larger TV in our RV and had to build a cabinet front to block the downward-firing speakers. I cut out two ovals from the front and use this material to cover the holes. It worked great. It's transparent enough to see through and transmits sound very well. I used nails and glue to hold it in place. It looks professional and the TV sounds great. The color also went well with the pecan stain I used.

This material is different from anything I've used before to make speakers. It feels "thick". This is a very nice exterior texture. The only downside is that you can easily see through it - instead of just seeing a fairly flat surface, you can easily see the wood and drivers. I have to assume this also means it's acoustically transparent too (okay). Maybe the transparency has something to do with the light color I chose as I've always used a dark brown or dark blue scrim in the past.

I bought this to cover a recently purchased speaker set with bare speakers (no covers). I love the look of this grill towel. But since you can see through it, I had to change the attachment so that everything behind it was black. The main downside was that it wasn't square cut - it looked more like a parallelogram than a rectangle. This gave me more time to straighten my cuts. At least the width was large enough that when turned into a rectangle it was the advertised width.
