On the R53 Mini simply remove the plastic cover in the passenger footwell, pull out the old one and insert the new one through the curved rails on each side. After 5 minutes I breathe fresh air. If you go to dealerships or oil change shops, they want to change the cabin air filters every six months so they might charge you an extra $50. Just say no'. Last 2 years or more.

I have a smell of oil in the cab after a mechanical failure. Very satisfied with the quality and value of the product. The second change of the cabin filter helped.

It seems to work but it's a little annoying that it seems to be shorter than the Mini Cooper OEM FILTER I removed. I discovered this when trying to fit the OEM into the replacement box, it was at least 1 inch shorter. Also, it doesn't have a plastic edge to catch the grooves like a frameless filter, if that makes sense.

I have seen reviews of these cabin filters saying they are too hard, too thin and the like so I was prepared that this cheap filter would be just as disappointing but THIS IS PERFECT. Precise length, precise thickness and flexible enough for smooth installation. This filter seems to be as good as the original in quality and performance and I highly recommend it. That weird cat smell is GONE ^_^
