Good replacement for a deceased LG pf1500

My 2 year old LG Smart LED Projector died due to what I suspect a slight power surge I decided to buy this projector from Epson. I've had good experiences with other Epson printers in the past and they seem to be among the market leaders. So far we are very happy with them. Pros: - picture quality and brightness - warranty period - solid build quality (Made in the Philippines) - somewhat subjective but still important to me. - Easy setup and customization. - low noise level in economy mode.…

Wildly flexible, but there are problems.

Review after approx. 300 operating hours. This projector replaced JVC DLP (rebranded by BenQ). The projector is attached to the ceiling. The screen is a 110-inch ALR screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The light in the room is sort of controlled - the windows are on the sides of the screen. The lighting in the room is provided by several light guides on both sides of the room. The walls are white so the light from the guides reflects everywhere. Adjustment: The ceiling in my viewing room is low…

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • Without automatic

Definitely an upgrade from my old Optoma HD27 1080p DLP projector

Update: I've upgraded my receiver to a Yamaha 385 and my HTPC graphics card to a Geforce 1650 and a pair of 3ft 8k HDMI cables for my and upgraded my computer to PS4. NOW I'm running a full 4k HDR signal from my computer and it's no wonder I had to recalibrate the image. It looked terrible with the settings I set for the 1080p SDR signal. Even resetting to default settings wasn't very good. Here's what I ended up with: Brightness = 44 Contrast = 24 Saturation = 55 Color Temperature = 8…
