Great size and weight!

I was very confused by the weight parameters. I ordered the heaviest, thinking it might be HUGE. I'm glad I ordered 24 oz. This is basically the size and weight of a regular hammer. This is a very reliable tool.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Some little things

Pretty good, but not perfect.

There didn't seem to be the right balance for best effect. I didn't hate him, but I liked Vaughn a little bit more. I'm no bricklayer and I suspect this one will last longer than the wood Vaughn handles regularly.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Great for crushing concrete and rock

Excellent for crushing concrete and rock. Estwing is always the best. It's just the right weight and design to feel light in the hand and transfer the most power to the head.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Almost OK

The Best Brand of Power and Hand Tools

I have been using Estwing hammers for over 20 years. While one of my colleagues loves the wooden-handled brick hammer because it's a bit lighter, he has to constantly soak it in water to swell the wood and hold it together. The only reason you need to replace the Estwing is if you lose it. .

Pros
  • MADE FOR PROFESSIONALS - Bricklayers, Bricklayers, Geologists, Quarrymen, Carpenters, Contractors, Merchants and Hobbyists
Cons
  • Crumpled

Funny agate hunt but

. It fit my hand perfectly and gave me a great day of rock finding and digging, but I severely blunted it on both ends in just one day. The day consisted of 6 hours digging along the river bank and attempting to chip off the edges of many geodes containing chalcedony, microcrystalline quartz, flint and agate. I couldn't believe how jaded he was, but I'll see if he gets me a second day of rock hunting fun. If this still produces results, I'll update my score.

Pros
  • MADE IN USA. Our tools are proudly made in Rockford, Illinois from the finest American steel.
Cons
  • Some bugs

Frustrated with quality control

First Estwing customer after hearing about their excellent quality American made instruments. I don't see it with this particular article. The finish is worn and/or scratched on all sides, the handle is frayed and does not have the factory tag like the others. The photos and description show that the handle will be silver when it is actually blue. Not the grip but the grip/shaft itself. To be honest I haven't used it yet so can't comment on durability or comfort. Must have missed quality…

Pros
  • FORGED IN ONE PIECE - the strongest and most durable percussion instruments on the market
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
