TOO FINE FOR USE - Hand and power tools

My condolences to those who received a poor quality product, my locket is aesthetically and functionally perfect. It should be noted that I purchased directly through Estwing, they may sell their imperfect products to secondary retailers.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Large and cumbersome

Great hammer! for hand tools

The weight and length of the handle are ideal for intensive use! The handle will not bend or break. I love bright orange! It's harder to lose and not many people have them, so it's easy to tell which tool is yours! Remember! The flat end is for chopping while the pointed end is for digging and scouting. Using a pointed end to crack rocks is dangerous and will dull the tool! ALWAYS WEAR GOGGLES WHEN BREAKING STONES!

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • weak

Excellent Standard Estwing

Excellent Standard Estwing. Works well if you follow the right instructions (don't smash this thing directly on hard rock etc etc). But the best part and the reason I bought it is the orange handle. Much more conspicuous in the field than the blue ones! Unfortunately, hammer loss is a fairly common occurrence for any geologist who spends a lot of time in the field, but it's also costly.

Pros
  • Excellent Price
Cons
  • I will add later

Visible orange. Large Stone Hammer

I took this stone hammer on a trip to Arkansas to hunt quartz. I chose orange as I thought they would be less common than blue which hasn't been around for many years. I like the pickaxe digging into thick dirt and helping pick out rocks. Don't use this end to hit a rock. It's not designed for that. I expect this hammer to last for many years and I will be adding more Eastwing pieces to my collection.

Pros
  • Hammers
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other pickaxes

The long-awaited rock choice!

Here is a brief overview. If you enjoy searching, digging, or just digging through rocks, this is a must-have tool. That, plus a 3-4 lb brick/stone hammer and gad (Estwing has one and it's amazing too) is the bare minimum you need to successfully dig through the ground to find, well, Whatever you want. This choice is reliable, I have 3, all over 2 years old. One is definitely 10 years old, but now they are pretty boring due to a lot of excavations! Highly recommended, Estwing are still making…

Pros
  • Bricklayer's hammer
Cons
  • Without instructions

It's easier to spot after he's put it down to remove more dirt.

What else can I say? It's a nice stone hammer, but what I like is the orange handle. It's easy to see. The crazy thing is I thought I lost my other orange handled hammer miles from home so I bought another one. All the dirt is easier to see when moving around, and sometimes only the handle is visible, making it easier to spot when gathering things for the day. But on my last ride with the club, I noticed some orange (about 1 inch) between the pickup's body and cab on the fuel tank. He must have

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for seniors
