short ferrules are good for wiring and connection

This product has a short ferrule and unless you have a crimping tool that will work with a short ferrule it will not work. But if you make a spacer they will work.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Spend more and get the ones with longer barrels.

Don't skimp like me or you'll spend forever making a seal for a crimping tool. Note: If you decide to make a spacer, here's what I found out. After a few tries I made one of the UHMW (aka Plastic Cutting Board) which worked. The outer diameter is 1/2 inch, the inner diameter is 1/4 inch and the thickness is 1/4 inch.

Pros
  • Mass leads
Cons
  • are unreliable
