I don't know why but now they make queen bedspreads very small. This is a general problem. When you put it on the bed it doesn't even cover the end of the mattress. I found out and bought a king. It's a little long on the sides (only 6 inches longer) but fits perfectly in length. I would NOT be happy with this purchase if I bought a queen. I like this bedspread, although I notice that it has shrunk the wrong way. Based on other reviews I bought a king size bedspread for my queen bed and quickly washed it (some smell came out of the package anyway). I didn't measure the bedspread before washing but after a gentle wash and tumble dry low it now measures 102 x 87.
