Evolv Shaman Rock Climbing Shoe Review

Failed to load media. Shoes have great grip when climbing the wall! I've used rented shoes and haven't been able to complete some of those V2-V4 climbs. The arch and thick sole helped me climb more difficult routes, especially rooftops/canopies and slabs! I also recommend finding your street shoe size for this shoe. I usually wear a size 10.5 with socks so I ordered a size 10 (wear it barefoot) but it was too small. Highly recommended!

Evolv climbing shoes start to hurt at the edges of the feet. My feet are extra wide so breaking in won't be easy, but not as difficult as other climbing shoes. The pointed tip at the end offers maximum control over tiny holds, while the rubber provides more friction on bulky holds. Although I would have preferred the rubber to have some sticking to it, these shoes are worth the money.

Overall a great pair of climbing shoes. The sizing runs a little small, but not as small as the aggressive Five Ten shoes. Size 7 Shaman is very similar to Agro and slightly larger than 7.5 Five Ten Arrowhead and Blackwing. Perhaps it seems so because of the wider toe. The heel cup is slightly wider than the La Sportiva Miura laces. For sizing reference, I had other shoes: Evolv Ashima W, size 8, La Sportiva Miura laces, size 38, Evolv Agro, size 7, and Scarpa Instinct, size 7. I love how the…
