I think this camera is very good for a consumer camera. If you don't need ultra-high resolution, this camera will do. The 12x optical zoom and large lens are superior to most digital cameras. Slow motion (high speed) videos are very good at 300 fps. At higher speeds (600 and 1200 fps) you need a lot of light to get good results and the resolution is acceptable but not great. However, I have found that most outdoor sports work very well for 300 fps slow motion videos.

UPDATE! Selling this camera. It was fun while it lasted. I did some slow motion videos of desert shooting (shooting practice) and it was a good time. But ultimately it wasn't great for photos. I had an XTI at the time, so I only used it for video. I have since moved on to other things and it was no longer used so I sold it. Oddly enough, I sold it for more than I paid for it. Find out. I use this camera to shoot golf at 300 fps at 1/2000. This allows me to analyze the golf swing in detail. This is only for the brave as it will reveal any flaws in your perfect golf shot.
