My asterisk above just refers to the fact that this product doesn't support external hard drives. It seems the manufacturer forgot to mention (or I missed it in the description) that this extender does NOT support external hard drives. It seems ok for video charging and extending to a second screen, but not for hard drives. Very disappointing.

I received this USB-C extension cable to connect my Lenovo laptop to a Totu hub. The Totu hub works very well but comes with a very short USB-C input cable - around 6 or 8 inches. I needed an extension cord so I could move my laptop to a more convenient spot on my desk. This 3 foot UseBean cable does the trick and works great. I run two HD monitors from a hub and don't see any bandwidth issues with this extender.

I got it in October 2020 and it only took 6 months for the right hand corner to start disconnecting and then constantly reconnecting. They determined there was a defect in the cord simply by moving the end at a right angle. The straight cable works fine, so it's not my computer's hard drive or USB port. I've used many USB-C cables and this is the first cable I've had that seemed to have some "polarity". It's not the right term, but it's the best way I can describe it. The great thing about USB-C is that it doesn't have a "correct" orientation, which means USB no longer crashes when you try to connect something. I bought this cable to connect my thunderbolt dock to my laptop so the protruding cable doesn't stick out the side of the 3 inch laptop and possibly on something gets stuck and possibly break the USB-C connector. I now have a nice dongle with a right angle connector that only sticks out 3/4" from the side, and my heavy Thunderbolt Dock cable is neatly tucked away in the back of the laptop.
