It's Beautiful - Electric

First of all, it's beautiful. It's a dark brown with hints of copper or chestnut, very similar to the photo here. Each wire is covered with a thermoplastic insulator (PVC type) and wrapped in a fabric sheath. The fabric is quite shiny - it could be mercerized cotton or satin, but I think it's something other than cotton. The length was generous; I measured it at 30 feet 7 inches. It's great, I'm very happy.

Pros
  • High quality vintage fabric cable, UL listed
Cons
  • No specifications

Ideal replacement wire for an antique lamp or chandelier

Error loading media. This wire is a good substitute for an antique lantern hanging from a chain where the wire is exposed. We used it, along with a chain and ceiling medallion, also from Revain, to repair a 100-year-old antique lead glass chandelier that was salvaged from a home that was demolished in the North Peninsula in the San…

Pros
  • Brown fabric with twisted cotton cord
Cons
  • Damaged

The rayon coating on this cable will wear off as it is cut, so when cutting and connecting the cable you can follow the steps below to get the best results. Before cutting the wire, use a matchstick or small heat gun to "cook" the approximately 1.25 inch long rayon. Cut the wire in the middle of the melted area, then strip the…

Pros
  • Perfect for your home projects like parties, weddings, holidays or any special occasion
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
