Description of Fantes Cheese Wire Cheese Slicer 12-Inches Stainless Steel – The Original Italian Market 1906

Fantes Uncle Paolo’s Cheese Wire easily cuts through blocks of cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan and allows each slice to be cut to desired thickness. Made in France from stainless steel wire and ABS handles; sturdy, durable, and resists rust. Fine-gauge cutting wire slices easily without straining hands or wrists; helpful for people with arthritis and carpal tunnel. Great for slicing firm cheeses and hard butter, as well as soft, creamy cheesecakes and slicing batter-based cakes into layers, too. Stretch handles apart so wire is taut, lay wire across food to be sliced, and pull downward with steady firm pressure; hand wash in warm, soapy water.

Durable and very useful.

I bought this item to remove a phone holder that was stuck on the windshield. It worked! It was tough but the tool worked well. Now he has an easy job of cutting cheese!

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Very expensive

Poor quality - dangerous

Ordered to cut large blocks of cheese. On first use I found that the handles are cheap plastic and not wood or good quality as one might expect. The end of the wire wasn't twisted well enough to fit in the hole on one handle. This made it inconvenient and dangerous to use.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • A long time ago

Good product on Cheese Tools

I don't use it to slice cheese, I use it to slice flatbread. I had to shorten the line. This can be done with anyone who works with beads. Jewelry repairers can't, and watch repairers can't. Find someone who does beading as a hobby. You can cut the wire and attach a clip to the end on the other side of the handle to keep the wire from coming out. Now it works fine.

Pros
  • One year test
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Wire length and gauge are perfect for my purposes (Ceramic

Would have given a higher rating but the soldering around the wire at the connection to the handle isn't very well done. Need to dig I take out my soldering iron, so it melts a bit to get it to fit properly.Since I can fix it myself I figured it wasn't worth returning for an exchange. The length and thickness of the wire is perfect for my purposes (ceramic, not cheese).

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Only available in Black

Used to cut a parmesan cheese circle

I needed to cut a half circle out of parmesan cheese and this cheese maker handled it like a champ! I used a Bosco cheese cutter to make the first cut around the cheese and carefully wrapped it around the scored line. I took my time and got a cleaner cut than the guy who cut the cheese at the store. It definitely beats the traditional way of slicing parmesan. You definitely need to score Cheese before attempting to use this.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • No mold needed

Here's my 5 star rating after it broke.

Update 11/25/20… after 2 months or even a dozen uses it got a crease in the middle and after trying to smooth it gently it broke and is now useless . It has been carefully stored and may have been wrapped around something in the box somehow, but I'm not sure how it got the slight crease, but once it does it looks like it's the end of the road . I was very happy with it but I guess it just got stuck and when I pulled it out of the little pouch it knotted up and wouldn't untie. I'm not sure what…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are flaws
