🔪 Superior Quality Farberware Bamboo Cutting Board Set - Pack of 3 Review

This is not a solid bamboo cutting board. They are made of bamboo laminated together with another type of wood. I washed them once and they all fell apart and were immediately unusable. Has never lasted a week.

As befits bamboo boards, I lubricated them with mineral oil for several days in a row before using them. It doesn't matter - the first time I cut meat and manually washed the board, it cracked. I give it maybe 2 months before it becomes completely unusable.

((Original review)) Great for the price. Nothing spectacular but just what I expected. ((update)) Just a few months later I threw it all away after cracking it and making my food taste like a wood chipper. I've researched how to properly care for them but they just aren't of good quality.

All 3 boards snapped in 2 months ownership. I took great care to properly care for them (knowing they were cheaper and probably not of the same quality), but oh well. Don't waste your money on this product, spend a few bucks more and get a quality board that won't break after a few uses.

Bought based on positive reviews. Sometimes it doesn't reflect what you end up getting. I used a large cutting board once, wiped it with a damp cloth, dried it, put it away, and a few days later I wanted to use it and saw a huge crack. Even the smallest board starts to split a little. These are JUNK, do not buy them unless you intend to throw them away within 1 month of receipt.

For $10 you get decent rates. They are great for cooking, decanting and serving. Not so surprising for cutting. The large and medium sizes are good for general use, but the small size is too small to be used for anything other than a stand. They're nowhere near as good as thick hardwood chopping blocks, but the cost is 1/10 the price. They easily leave marks from a knife and slide on the countertop. I really like these boards. I used them today, they are good at a medium level and they were easy to cut with no food slipping like plastic. (Plastic is unsafe due to sliding) I put a damp paper towel underneath to keep it from sliding on the table as it doesn't have rubber feet as they are reversible. This is an amazing set of bamboo cutting boards, especially at this price! It had a weird smell when I first opened it, but that went away after a few washes. Large selection of comfortable sizes. I think they'll hold up decently and when it comes time to replace them I won't even feel bad because bamboo is eco-friendly/biodegradable and the price is right.
