My niece loves this toy!

I liked the colorful measurements with animals on them. I bought this for my great niece and wasn't sure if she would like it but she tore open the package and started measuring right away! It comes with a booklet and she liked it too. knowledgeable and funny. The main thing is that she loves it.

Great for learning math.

Given to Inchamals youngest granddaughter for Christmas. She enjoys playing with him, but she is too young to learn from him. Her older sister (5) enjoys playing with it and is a valuable learning tool. The problem was that her little sister didn't really want to share. I thought about buying a second set of inchamals but decided it was such a great toy that I wanted the older girl to have her own set without being fussy. I'm very glad I invested in the second set and I know that when they're…

Nice size presentation

My 5 year old grandson loved this brain toy. He likes how the concepts were presented. However, to improve this "brain toy". He was puzzled by the fact that there were more lines within the lines to define the boxes. For example, for 3 inches there were four lines on the block. Although there was a division into three parts, there were four lines. In addition, the cap of the pen must be able to be placed on the pen. He felt a little uncomfortable holding and writing at the same time. The paint…

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Good but not great

It's great! My daughter just turned 4 and we bought her these toys for her birthday. I love that she can compare them side by side or stand up to compare them to see the difference visually. You can also count the dots from the top, look down to see the actual number, or count the number of inches on the sides. I love the book that comes with them! It gives you different math problems and comes with a dry erase marker so you can solve them over and over again. For example, it may show a picture

Pros
  • Nice packaging

  • Not bad

Great introduction to basic math for my 4.5 year old

My 4.5 year old loves it. I am so impressed with this! The first time we used it she told me she didn't know how to write numbers. But once I showed her they were at the bottom of the blocks and she could look at them for reference, she started filling in the blanks with no problem. Putting two animals together to make a third seemed perfectly logical to her, and she liked to count them one by one, then add them together and then compare them to a larger animal. She was so proud of herself and…

So much fun!: Early development and activity toy

I bought this toy for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. The concept of addition is all we've covered so far and I have to say the visual part is SO clear! My daughter figured out how to find answers pretty quickly after I demonstrated it a few times. She loves colors and animals. My 2 year old son loves to sit and play with the blocks she is not using and it helps keep him entertained which can be difficult when I am in class with her as most of the time he is not figuring it out can who

Montessori style math manipulation

Advantages: - Great idea for a math toy! Montessori counting stick idea (check them out too!). There are 12 sticks/blocks from 1" to 12" in height; each shows a different animal. My son loves to combine two animals into a third. At the age of 3, he independently (himself) uses the attached notebook with tasks and even writes the corresponding numbers in the notebook. This is one of the toys he takes and works on himself :) Cons: -When you opened the box, there was a strong smell of something…

Buy a better, cheaper, more versatile arm

I bought these in 2012. If I could go back knowing what I know now I would buy something else. 1950s Caleb Gattegno). You can buy sets of these for a lot less. Or you can get the type of blocks they use in Mortensen Math (circa 1970s) or the related Math U See syllabus - these blocks are similar to Cuisenaire bars but also have blocks for 100. Use either Mortensen Math / Math Blocks Lake. or Kuizener sticks with a base of ten blocks can teach everything you can do with inchimals (except measure
