Great even in direct sunlight

I wanted this in my 4K Black Magic Pocket for daytime use and it was great. I have no complaints after using it half a dozen times in broad daylight.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Has flaws

Bright on the beach!

Great portable 2000nit (very bright) monitor! I can see everything in detail even when I'm shooting at the beach on a bright, sunny day. Also bang for your buck!

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Poor manual

For the price it's all and a bag of chips

I love this monitor. I've only been using it for about a month now, but I do everything it says. I will do a lot more. As a result, I'm buying a second one for my focus puller. If something doesn't change when it happens, I will change it. So far, so good.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unsafe

Lightweight and very bright in the sun

I bought this monitor 6 months ago and sold all my other monitors and bought another one a few weeks ago because I love it so much! It's the perfect size and light weight. It's very light so I can use it in the sun without a hood! One of the best monitors for the price!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Only available in black

This monitor is good value for money

I need a large field monitor to replace the smaller fixed display on my outdoor frame camera, mostly with a Canon tilt and shift lens. I was a little skeptical about the brightness claims of the Feelworld FW279 7-inch, 2200-nit monitor, especially when it came hoodless, but my skepticism was needless. This monitor delivers excellent images in the brightest outdoor environments. The menu system also offers many options. Without a doubt I will definitely buy this monitor again and highly…

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost never

Exactly what I needed!

I'm having trouble tracking my son on the soccer field with my camcorder and this screen works great! I was concerned about the display lag, but it's so minimal you won't even notice it. The screen is so bright that the default blue screen hurt my eyes when I first turned it on. There are many video reviews of this model on the Internet, so I will not go into details, but I will say that I am very satisfied with what I received. I'm very happy with the overall performance and ease of use. I…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No auto mode

worth the money, not the headache

Here's the kicker: it's bright, but it hardly matters because the image is so muddy and poor quality you can't focus anyway. I shot this outdoors and was STILL more confident focusing with the EVF and even the TERRIBLE LCD on my camera. This should give you an idea of what you are buying. If you are not using the director's monitor for framing or for reasons other than focus shift, DO NOT BUY. The response time is also quite good.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Clear as it can be outside!

This thing is *really* bright but not overexposed. It just looks great and is very easy to see outdoors. Obviously it lacks some of the features that more expensive monitors have, but it's all about brightness and that's exactly what I needed. The only weird thing is that my zebras are set to 95% on my camera, but on the monitor I have to set them to 85% to get the same results. It eats up batteries though, so get the biggest one you can.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Not updated but great for the price

Don't expect top notch features or design for the price. There are more durable and better designed devices out there, but it will cost you more. What is good is displaying a bright and clear image even outdoors. The menu system and button layout is TERRIBLE. If you've used Blackmagic or SmallHD products, you know how important user interface design is to user experience. Would love to see a firmware update with more features, custom profile buttons, more attachment points, and a better design.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Some issues

Bright monitor, but energy intensive.

There is so much to say about this FEELWORLD FW279 monitor. This monitor is really good in the sun, but it is not suitable for me as it is very energy intensive. Disadvantages: 1). Yes, the bright device uses more power, but I only get about 15 minutes from a Sony 570 battery, while the Feelworld F5, the lower-bright 5-inch model I also own, gets me about an hour and 30 minutes work there. Use with the same battery 570. The power consumption of this FEELWORLD FW279 is 18W compared to the F5…
