HAND-HELD TOOL: This hand-held tool is great for scoring acrylics and plexiglass with a market-unique, double-edged scoring tip that extends scoring life. This tool is great for small home projects and cutting jobs. ERGONOMIC DESIGN: The ergonomically designed comfort grip handle makes this cutting tool easy to use. You'll be able to score and break plexiglass sheets, acrylic sheets and other fracture-sensitive plastic material. USE ON VARIOUS THICKNESSES: Depending on the thickness of the plastic sheet, you may have to make more than one pass with the cutter. For plastics up to 1/8โ€, only one scribing pass is required. You may want to make 2 or 3 passes on 3/16- or 1/4-inch-thick plastic sheet. HOW TO USE: This scoring tool easily makes cuts through a variety of hard plastic sheets. Apply pressure and draw towards you using a straight edge to make your desired score. When the score is complete, easily break out your scored piece using Fletcherโ€™s Nipping Pliers, or place it on the edge of the table and apply pressure and break. A sharp cutter that works but needs a sheath!

As the name suggests this is a great cheap tool but very sharp. A suitcase would be a nice addition to the purchase, but as there isn't one you'll have to invest to find a solution yourself. You can probably find them on things on a 3D printer. I wouldn't rely on the packaging as it's a thin plastic that will crack over time (perhaps you could reinforce it with tape or something, but it's best to get a permanent coating).

Ideal for clean and precise cutting of single acrylic/plex sheets.

Inexpensive and ideal for cutting acrylic sheets. Use a ruler to make the first cut and after that the tool will lightly follow your first cut to deepen the groove until you feel you can cut cleanly. I suppose there are better tools out there if you're cutting tons and tons of acrylic/plex, but for a few projects or every now and then you can't do much better.

Sharp Dual Handle and Notch

No laser cutter? Don't worry, you can use this knife to cut acrylic and make coolers, coasters, etc. I used a Starrett square to make straight cuts and then snapped the acrylic into place to make a water box. I've used it on 1/4" thick acrylic, not thinner or thicker, but I think it will work for finer detail as well. The fact is the creases are scalloped, so you won't get a perfectly even edge. You can do this Solve problem by sanding or maybe use a flashlight.Acrylic glue melts the edges soโ€ฆ

Pros
  • APPLICATIONS: This notch easily cuts through a variety of rigid plastic sheeting. Apply pressure and pull toward you with a ruler to get the desired result. When the score is complete, simply pry out the typed piece with Fletcher's pliers or place it on the edge of the table, press down and pry.
