They are well done and help me a lot in viewing my computer screen. However, they are quite heavy and bulky - I think they could minimize the weight and size of the folding/clamping mechanism without sacrificing strength. But they were cheap and now I can read my computer screen. Also, if you have large lentils, they don't cover the bottom of the lentils. My lenses are 3.5cm vertical and I had to cut and modify that plastic stabilizing bar at the top so I could clamp it. But overall they are…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

The idea of getting them is to keep the astigmatism correction of my glasses for distance but increase the focal length slightly to be useful for things like reading music when I sing or play. The optical quality is excellent and they are easy to attach. They work well for their intended purpose. The only downside, which is probably inevitable, is that they're obnoxious geeks (geeks aren't inherently bad). By the way, a diopter correction is enough (at least for me) for music or computer work…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Warning for those with plastic lenses

Bought for use on a computer to get a better view of the screen up close. They do an excellent job of that. I've had them for a year or so. BUT, if you have plastic lenses, be careful. The support system clamps the lenses between plastic spacers on one side and plastic anthers on wire legs on the other. Over time, these contact points pick up dust or dirt, leaving small, permanent marks on the lenses. I suppose you can always keep the pinch points very clean, but that's too much hassle for me…

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Obsolete model
