We change our filter in our RV every few months. We travel full time and you can actually watch them at work! My husband will show me the old one, which is all brown from impurities in the water. I can tell the difference, when a new filter is put in, it smells a lot better.

I use this filter as the #2 filter element on my trailer. The first element is a particle filter, and then the water flows through this carbon filter. With these filters, I don't have to worry about the strongly fluctuating groundwater quality in the camp. I will definitely buy again.

Do not lose O-ring. Someone else said they leaked after the first install, but the second time is fine. Be sure to clean and lubricate the o-ring before installation. The rubber seal may separate from the end of the new filter, ensure it is tight on the end of the filter before installing.

This product is available as a Watts product for less than $20 or as a universal version for less than $10. Both will likely perform the same, but some might argue that the Watts branded version is better. I really don't know, but it's not high tech, so judge for yourself. Replacing the cartridge is very easy if you have a plastic filter wrench. If you don't have it, be sure to order it along with the filter.
