Replaced Original Equipment Halogens

Excellent replacement. I used the 42 LED to replace the two old original halogen bulbs that came with my EDGE. It was an easy replacement with only 4 screws. It looks amazing, love the night lights and it looks like it will last a lot longer than the original. I'm happy!

Brighter and better?

Seems almost brighter than my original light that came with my Riverbank. One thing I've noticed a definite difference in is the water resistance for this device. While not perfect, it's an improvement over my original light (maybe I have an older model?). Either way it's an exact replacement, it was easy to replace and works like a charm.

  • Solid construction

REQUIRES SOFT POWER LIGHT

This is a great upgrade to the original lamp that came with the 6 gallon Fluval aquarium. I've read that a lot of people have trouble getting the screws from an old lamp into a new one, so here's a tip. USE THE DRILL CAREFULLY. I also tried hand tightening the bolts for 20 minutes and it didn't work. Otherwise all parts are solid and the switch is simple. Just don't start dismantling an old faucet over a sink or anywhere the micro screws can get lost haha.

  • Great for me

TIP: Use a magnetic screwdriver to install!

I recommend using a Philips magnetic screwdriver for installation as the screws on the lamp body are deeply countersunk. I did it without a magnetic screwdriver, but it was annoying (to say the least)! In addition, the light is very bright and greatly improves the lighting conditions of my 6 gallon Fluval Edge tank. It's only been in my tank for a few weeks so I can't comment on longevity. My previous lightbulb collected condensation inside and burned out. Fluval told me the only way to avoid…

Replacement for 6 gallon Edge tank

Bought to replace the new 6 gallon Edge tank. The original LED bulb was only 3W, but this 42-LED bulb increases the light output to 5W, which is almost 1W/gallon. Plant-wise still a weak light tank, but should help. updated: 18.05. - If you're considering upgrading your 6 gallon rim with this more powerful flashlight, here are a few tips: 1. The lighting will be too bright for some species of fish (Neon Tetras, for example, like dimmer lighting)2. The increased lumens also encourage algae…

Nice upgrade for what it is

I received this to replace the 21 LED light bulb that my 6 gallon Fluval Edge came with. It was a little annoying to install after my tank was fully set up. So if you plan on getting this, ideally do it before your tank gets wet! There were NO screws included which was very disappointing considering I ripped the screw off. Take out the old hardware. Four screws need to be removed, after which the levers release over a small pivot at the rear of the tank service area. One thing I don't like…

  • This is great

  • Long delivery time

I have a used LED bulb that isn't working

I was happy to find this part for my Fluval Edge (12 gallon) tank - it's discontinued and the new design is on sale for $80 new cap integrated. However, when it arrived the lens was scratched and dirty, missing the necessary screws and when plugged in it didn't work at all. Waste of my time and money. Needless to say I am returning it immediately. I would give ZERO stars for the whole experience but that's not an option. NB You must have seen this review because they shipped a replacement…

Bad design and missing screws

Bad design and missing screws. Two plastic parts, LED strip cable and power supply. The device works, but its design limits its use and lifespan. again. (and yes, so close to the water that it gets wet) Simply designing the plastic pieces to drain away instead of inward will solve the problem. 2) How about we move the switch outward so you don't have to take the hood off? enable or disable? (This would also be better for the switch as we are collecting water in the block) 3) The block comes…

  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Fluval does not provide instructions

If you have a 12 gallon Fluval tank and your light dies (which is likely to happen by reading the reviews posted here) this is the only replacement that will work. Some research is required to understand this. You can't just replace the bulbs, it's really quite a stretch and the only option. The part ships without instructions, so here it is. I hope this is helpful to those who may be in the same boat. There are four small screws that need to be removed from the existing part. Look carefully…
