If you have a 12 gallon Fluval tank and your light dies (which is likely to happen by reading the reviews posted here) this is the only replacement that will work. Some research is required to understand this. You can't just replace the bulbs, it's really quite a stretch and the only option. The part ships without instructions, so here it is. I hope this is helpful to those who may be in the same boat. There are four small screws that need to be removed from the existing part. Look carefully and you will find them. Keep an eye on them as there are no small screws in this part. You'll need a small screwdriver, maybe an eyeglass repair kit. The plastic handles flex at the top for detaching and attaching. Don't try to use force or the plastic may break which would be a different order of parts and unconvincing as it's already quite expensive. Tweezers are also useful for aligning screws in a new part. Don't do that over the sink, it's my fault. I don't normally write reviews so I just wanted to simplify the process for another soul scratching his head over this issue. A lot of effort, but in the end it's worth it for the further life of my fish and this tank. Fluval scores with visually modern design, but doesn't work well with light and isn't user-friendly.
