A little goes a long way

I thought the paint spread nice & evenly. It was thick enough not to really have to apply more than one coat and it dried quickly (30 minutes like the directions say). I painted a base coat plus one extra coat to a piece of plywood for a project. Once it's ready, I'll post a picture. My only disclaimer is that the color was a little off. Although, now that I'm comparing it to the website & to the bottle, it does look pretty similar. In my opinion, Meeting House Blue was more of a purple-blue.I…

Easy to apply an clean up milk paint!

I absolutely loved my Meetinghouse Blue Milk Paint! I was a bit nervous to try something other than chalk paint, as I had successfully completed a few projects very easily using chalk paint. However, I would have to say that FolkArt milk paint has very similar coverage and finish as a chalk paint. I plan to paint my coffee table this soft blue, but decided to try it on a few smaller projects first. Here is what I found:*A little goes a long way-- this paint has great coverage and I only needed…

Pros
  • This color is AMAZING 😉
Cons
  • The paint may not be safe for use around children or pets

Old School furniture refinish is E-Z wit this paint!

Used for a small dresser repaint. The paint goes a long way and covers quite well with only minor touch ups needed past a first coat. I will be waxing the finished paint to create the old school fnish I desire. The Plymouth Rock color os cool and looks immediately antiqued. Surprised at how well things get covered and how the paint easily spreads. FUN TO DO THIS!

Pros
  • add on price
Cons
  • Product was in a bottle that opened during shipment and could not be used.

I won’t use this again

The paint itself is just all right. I used Sumter Blue and Tavern Ale to paint a kitchen cart, and there was a marked difference in consistency and coverage between the two, so there’s one strike. The company says the first coat goes on like a stain, and the second like a paint. That was true of the Tavern Ale - the first coat was thin and easily showed the wood grain. I liked that look and didn’t apply a second coat. The Sumter Blue, however, covered just like chalk paint, total coverage with…

Low quality!: my feedback

The worst milk paint I've ever seen. Terrible quality. Poor coverage. Made a mess of an easy project. Buy a different brand. ANY other brand! And no returns for this product!?!

Pros
  • works great, very blue
Cons
  • The paint may rub off easily before it fully dries

This is a wonderful paint. I used it to repaint a vintage toddler chair, and it applied beautifully. I sanded the chair first and sanded between coats. The paint had minimal odor and a little bit went a long way. I did not love the color, however. I purchased "shaker red” thinking it would be a deepish red, but I would say it is more of a strawberry red. I am seriously considering sanding the chair down again and starting over. It’s just so bright.

Pros
  • 3.52 ounces
Cons
  • The product may not be available in the desired color

Very strong odor: my feedback

The smell of this milk paint makes me so sick. I’ve never had a reaction like that with paint before. I don’t think it’s anything toxic. It simply has a very strong smell. It’s nice as a paint though.

Pros
  • Perfect color, great coverage.
Cons
  • The paint may not have a smooth finish

Quaker Blue is really blueberry purple.

Did not match the dark dusty blue description given on the site. If you are looking for the perfect blueberry purple, this is your color.

Cons
  • The paint may be too thick or too thin

Inaccurate color descriptions

I bought two colors for a wood bead chandelier that I'm making, the "pink dogwood" and the "pale peach." I had planned on making a pattern with the two colors of beads. Unfortunately both colors are the same. I felt like I was going crazy and applied 3 coats of color from each container onto the unfinished wood, and followed up with the recommended finishing oil. All of the time was misspent because both containers of paint had the same color in them. It is incredibly…

Pros
  • Nice matte paint. Color was just as described online. Great coverage.
Cons
  • The product may dry out quickly if not used often
