Lead-free Glass Iced Tea Jug with Stainless Steel Strainer. Jug-Borosilicate glass; Lid-Polypropylene; Filter-Stainless-steel; Gasket-Silicone rubber. Dishwasher-safe, but hand-wash recommended for glass jug. Product must NOT be placed on direct flame or heating element. Let boiling water settle about 15-20-second before pouring.

Beautiful and functional

I love this glass iced teapot. I add a few tablespoons of my favorite loose leaf tea (Boston Tea Tropical Mango), add about two cups of boiling water for a quick infusion, then top up with cold water and store in the fridge. You can also simply brew a cold drink in the fridge overnight. The loose tea leaves are beautiful to look at and the stainless steel filter built into the lid prevents the leaves from falling into the glass when poured. I hand wash between uses. 51 oz. Not very suitable for loose tea

I was looking for a glass jug for cooling loose tea and decided to end my search there. They envisioned it being used with loose tea and it has a fine mesh filter to keep the leaves out of my cup which bodes well. I've used it for one batch so far and am really disappointed with how it pours. The tea comes out in a few rivulets, which makes pouring a bit difficult, and leaves a few drops of tea on the outside of the spout. If you are looking for a glass teapot with a lid, this is the ONE!

I spent a few hours looking for a glass jar with a lid that I could pour boiling water into without breaking it. So many other reviewers have complained about this. This pitcher is made for hot or cold steeping, so I was able to pour in freshly boiled water (with a tablespoon of honey) along with two tea bags.
