Description of FOTGA Variable Adjustable Neutral Density

Neutral Density (ND) filters can reduce the intensity of light without appreciably changing its color. Traditionally speaking, ND filters have different f-stop reduction numbers and transmittance thus generated can be applied for different shooting conditions, such as portraiture, water falls, etc. Slim profile design. Thin filters are essential for avoiding vignetting when shooting at wider angles. Simply rotate the ring of this filter, it offers 2 to 8 stops added density. Apply slow shutter speed under strong sunlight exposure. Large aperture is available to create depth of field easily. Carry ONLY a single filter with the same capability with ND2, ND4, ND8 and ND400. The Fader ND filter is suggested to use with wide and standard lens to obtain the best performance. Image quality may drop when focal length above 200mm. It may not be suitable for wide angle lens <24mm,35mm film format equivalent. Specification: Material: Optical Glass from Japan Back thread diameter (attach to lens): 49mm Front thread diameter (attach additional filter): 52mm Included: 1 x 49mm Fader ND Filter (ND2- ND400) With Original Box.

a must-have for outdoor daytime photography

I've been dabbling in "cameras" recently. It struck me right away that my m50 can't control exposure outdoors during the day, like it's very bright even at 100 ISO. But with this ND filter, it's so easy to control exposure and balance the light. So happy with this purchase

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

Spent the extra money and with the standard set ND filters

I will definitely avoid variable ND filters in the future, the thing is beyond useless. Terrible toning in all my photos, which you can't get with old school ND filters. I will buy a set of ND filters and so will you.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Updates

Yes, for fast shooting and main lens protection

Protects the main lens as it is the most expensive part of the camera. In addition, street photography makes it easy to adjust brightness and darkness for quick shots. Of course with manual camera settings. What I don't like is that the lens hood doesn't fit after screwing on the lens. I have a Sony a5000 and a6000 that both work with this ND filter, but one day you won't be able to put the lens hood on.

  • Consistent test results

It's great for the price

This is a cheap adjustable ND filter that works really well. You must be aware that depending on the lens used, your photos will have a vignetting effect on the outer edges of your images. I'm using a Canon EOS M50 with the included 15-45mm lens and have found that there is a lot of vignetting when using Lightroom with lens profile correction removed. Additionally, this is a great product for a photographer on a budget.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Legacy

Terrible picture quality - Not recommended

This thing became useless and actually ruined a couple of photos I took for someone. Image quality will be drastically reduced when using this filter. And if the filter is too dark, it will create a large dark area in the center of the field of view and will not darken the image evenly. I used this on a Canon M50 with an EF-S 50mm lens and an EF-M 15-45 lens. It's too late to come back, so I just accept the loss and take the best. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Complete crap filter, the best ND filter

I have a Canon and wanted to use this filter at 50mm. However, when I put the filter on the lens, I immediately found that the lens cap did not fit. The filter fits on the lens itself but is too big for the lens cap. For €20 I'm sure I can get something better that fits. Also, returns go directly through Fotga so now I have to wait for the post office or use my own ink. Both options are nonsense these days and I should be able to just return it to a UPS store or Kohls etc. WILL NOT BUY FROM…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

These filters saved me during a solar eclipse.

I used this filter during a solar eclipse. The step function is great. I was able to set the camera to face the sun directly and set the filter to show the phases of the eclipse. I used 49mm and 77mm filters on my camcorder and DSLR. My 4 star rating may not be correct. There were filter side effects when I was shooting it. I'm not sure if they are due to the filter or how the filter interacts with my lenses. For each DSLR shot I exposed 3 shots with 3 filter settings. Everything went very…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
