Does not charge and has never been charged

Never worked after the supplied battery died. Won't charge regardless of sun exposure, and the spare battery is an odd size to look for. It was beautiful - I liked it. But I need something that charges, not that I have to change the battery every few days.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

When it worked it was a very good night light but it no longer works - even batteries in - new and still not working. This whole order was a waste of my money! None of this works! Too cumbersome to send back. I just won't fall for that nonsense again!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Huge disappointment -

Ordered 3 of these to hang on trees here in Seattle for the summer. Left them in direct sunlight to charge all day and only 1 of them worked. Solar charging on the only thing that worked didn't take very long - just a few hours. I hate blue light - was hoping for more yellow or white light. They are all returned - too expensive for what you get.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great for a child who takes good care of their toys

This idea and product is SO cute! The light can be set to turn on with a switch or when it gets dark. However, this is a glass item (with a solid construction and feel) and you may want to bring it in like a real firefly jar, so make sure you don't mind. Good for subtle night light that isn't bright enough for just playing in her bed. Also makes a great gift for a dreamer!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Great price

Unusable due to stuck lid

To be honest I'm not impressed. The backlight color is very pleasant, pale blue, and the "firefly" effect is mesmerizing. However, the lid clamps very easily. I've been trying to take it off for the last 10 minutes because the last time I put it on I put it on at a slight angle. It's also worth noting that the batteries don't last as long no matter how long you leave the light on. I run it twice a week for about 10 minutes and a set of batteries only lasts two weeks.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Everything OK

Works perfectly. Very pretty.

This light works great. It has little lights that move inside and really look like a jar of fireflies. It is enough to illuminate my picnic table with soft light. It lasts late into the night and sometimes into the morning. One thing to watch out for is condensation in wet areas. I've never had a problem with rain, but when I took it to the Gulf Coast there was about 1/4 inch of water on the bottom due to condensation. Draining was easy enough. I like my firefly very much!

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Bad design

Atmosphere of "Blue Bay "

Just moved into a house on an artificial canal. At night it reminds me of the "Blue Bayou Restaurant" from "Pirates of the Caribbean". It added exactly the note I was looking for! Hung it from a branch, turned on the sensor and it worked great every night! The light is blue-white rather than yellow. but that's enough for me! Update 03/13/15 Good that it was hanging outside for almost 3 years and worked well without maintenance or even changing the battery. Eventually he cleared his throat, but…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • I don't remember

Don't rely on "rechargeable solar panels "

This product is beautiful and makes a great accent light at night. but it doesn't really work like sunlight. You must use real batteries if you want more than 30 seconds of light. I'm not exaggerating; Charging this little one in direct sunlight for a full day will give you 30 seconds to 2 minutes of solar battery life. You must then switch to battery operation. As such, I would only buy these if you're OK with using them as a battery powered flashlight. I deducted the stars from my rating…

  • Pretty packaging
