The shirt is very cute but it is tight and runs small. You can say it's ready after 1 wear and wash. My daughter is 8 years old, she is thin and a bit tall for her age. I usually buy the large size (10/12) and it always fits her perfectly. It is a size 12 and fits snugly under her armpit and shows her stomach when she raises her arm(s).
