My girls SWIMMING in 7/8. The length was ok. Otherwise they were normal leggings. But they did not stay at the waist, because the proportions were ridiculous. I ended up buying 5 different pairs in 4 different colors in about 2 weeks. All sizes 6x. (Daughter wears number 6 but I got the right size.) Washed all together in the cold and tumble dried on a low setting. The heather blue and gray have retained their original size. Persian red has declined sharply. Looks like 2-3 sizes too small. I ignored other reviewers' warnings and bought a size up. My daughter is tiny, at 12% small. We received them and I washed and dried them straight away, my toddler tried them on and they are fine. The thickness of the fabric is great, it doesn't cut through you too easily. The length is about an inch above her ankles, shorter than I like but not by that much. The waist is a bit big so there are creases and twists in the crotch area and my daughter is too compulsive for the seams to not line up…
