Thicker material than I expected - now I understand why motorcyclists like them as they are great waterproof. For my use I could use a lighter pair. However, I know they last longer and are more tear and tear resistant than my lightweight Frogg Toggs jacket. The bottom zip cuff is a big plus that I really like now. Easy access to my pockets through the button closure. The nice elastic waist and drawstring keep the pants in place while walking.

Definitely intended as outerwear - I usually wear large dresses so I buy large ones that are very roomy even over hiking pants. Ideal for hiking/kayaking in an area with a high chance of rain. Easy to put on and take off. My only complaint is that they don't seem to last long as the material feels cheap and the "pockets" button (not a pocket in the rain pants themselves but allows access to the pocket of your hiking pants) leaked some water . in, but not so bad. Ideal for small budgets.

I have worn them twice and both times my crotch area was soaked and I looked like I had wet myself. The manufacturer of these pants is almost right. They are very easy to put on, repel rain well and as an added bonus they even breathe a lot better than you would expect from a waterproof suit. They also have great features like being able to get at your own bags without removing them. But they don't deserve the title "Street Toad". The target audience is incredibly clear.
