At the price of disposable razors, I thought I'd try a straight razor. A lot of work and effort and not worth it for me. The strap was one of the main reasons I didn't, there is nothing wrong with the product let's just say but sharpening a straight razor with one of them is very difficult unless you have an extra hour, to sharpen the blade before and after each use.

Just look at the pictures. Is the razor strap so done? Multiple cracks and indentations on the skin. Even cuts and nails? scratch? Almost $40, that's a joke! Even my leather belts are in better condition than these. Contacted Revain and they will send a replacement item.

I had to sharpen my old razor before I could use the strap. Both the leather and canvas straps are well made and the hardware is nice, especially the way the hook rotates 360°. It's also a decorative touch hanging in my old style bathroom. This is a good product at a reasonable price.

I shave wet and usually use a DE razor. I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try a razor shave. I can't compare this to any other towel as I've only used this one so far. It came in a long box so it wasn't twisted or dished. The leather appears to be of good quality. The linen side is good too. So far my Dovo shave has been about 10-20 strokes on the flax side and 30-40 on the leather side. It takes some practice, but it's not rocket science. I've been shaving with a straight razor for over 50 years. Most lines are too short today. This is a replacement for my original.

After treating the leather with a high quality automotive leather product. Then I hung the leather strap for 24 hours and let gravity smooth it out. (The strap is loosely folded in a padded mailer.) Recently, I've become a bit familiar with leather straps. I don't claim to be a pro at anything. However, this sling is made from what appears to be the highest quality materials. Looks and describes how the merchant site advertises. (Hasn't happened to me lately). Haven't done much with it yet as it needs a bit of prep as it's new.
