Fstop Labs DJI Phantom 3 Gimbal Yaw Arm Replacement: CNC Aluminum for Professional/Advanced/Standard Models Review

This part saved me $350 on a new camera! I'm 53 and don't have any electronics repair experience, but with this part (which fits perfectly) and a YouTube video, I had my P3A up and running again in 30 minutes.

The part does not have the same dimensions as the original - it was not mentioned anywhere. The cable (original) does not insert in the right place, so it dangles a bit, leaving the possibility of damage.

A week after purchase, I crashed my DJI Phantom 3 Standard into a tree and was deeply saddened to see that the stabilizer arm was bent. Although the price of this part is a bit high for my liking, it's clear that a custom aluminum part would be cheaper than replacing the entire drone, so I went with that. Some disassembly of the Phantom might seem a bit tricky for non-technical folks, but there are a few YouTube videos that demonstrate it very well. My Phantom 3S now works like new.

I recently crashed my Phantom 3 Standard (not bad) which bent the pan bar on the camera. After that, the gimbal found it difficult to stabilize and the camera moved erratically. I tried straightening my arm but it just wasn't right and when inspecting the electronics, all I needed was a spare arm. Works great and fits perfectly. There is a very slight color difference from the original, but it is insignificant and cannot be seen up close. The only minor thing is that the little notch on the shaft where the wire is supposed to stick isn't aligned like the original so the wire doesn't line up with it, but it really doesn't matter as the wire will hold.
