Not suitable for underwater photography

I bought this snorkel camera from Captain Cook, the best snorkeling spot in Hawaii. The first day the battery died immediately and I lost all photos including some nice shots of a green turtle diving with Snuba. I signed up for another snorkeling tour (you can't go to Captain Cook alone) mainly to get back to shooting with this camera, but the camera let me down again. Although the battery lasted longer this time, the picture quality was totally unacceptable. Most were washed out (very slowโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • No

This is my son's second Fuji Finepix. The first survived many years of abuse by a 4-8 year old child. He eventually died and I bought him this to replace him. Underwater capabilities were the main selling point. He got it for Easter and used it once or twice, then we took it on holiday and used it at the lake. And when I say I've used it, I mean I've used it while stomping on the water and it didn't go any deeper than 2 feet. I could see the moisture when I took photos. They removed everythingโ€ฆ

Great price but don't forget the memory card

We took them on our honeymoon spearfishing and found them very good value. We didn't want an ultra-cheap camera and we didn't want to hassle with a GoPro, so this fitted the bill for us. We've used it up to 25 feet. Great shots were taken above water and under water (as you can see) - knowing, of course, that underwater photography depends heavily on the transparency of the water and the lighting conditions. There is a flash and it works great. We loaded after every dive. We bought a floatingโ€ฆ

Lifehack for busy parents!

As a busy dad, I would always grab my phone to take pictures of the kids. Sometimes it was in humid, sandy or dusty places - none of these places are suitable for the phone. Imagine the Fujifilm FinePix XP - with this robust yet handy camera I can fish, kayak or hike and take magazine-quality photos. Don't worry, the camera is waterproof. I don't know if it's related to zoom, image stabilization, or autofocus (or maybe a combination), but I've gotten more good shots than bad ones with thisโ€ฆ

  • An Absolute Legend
