Ideal for a slightly shorter bulb.

Works great, mounts are perfectly aligned. The only problem was that we had to connect one side of the wiring (blue in this case) to get both sides to match the length of the lantern. This was for a 24" flashlight. A 19" or 20" flashlight would be ideal. If my husband wasn't so comfortable I would have contacted the seller and asked for a return. That's why I'm only giving 3 stars for less light definitely a good buy!

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • New Competitors

This ballast is exactly the size and shape of the IG13-20EL ballast and fits in the same mounting holes/screws. Works right out of the box and takes less than 10 minutes to install The easiest way to install is to cut the existing red and blue wires going to the lamp pins and screw them onto the red/blue wires on the new ballast Need 4 sockets, orange 14-18awg The guy has at Worked for me. My T8 18" 15W bulb lit up right away.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Secret

This is a great (almost) replacement for the 24 " T8 tube.

This is a great (almost) replacement for the 24" T8 aquarium ballast tube. It goes straight to screw mounts. Only problem is the tube wires are too short so I have those cut and stripped the existing blue wires and attached the ballast wires to those using wire nuts.To remove the wires from the lightbulb tombstone holders it is easiest to cut the wires about 4" long, insert the end of a paperclip into the holes in inserting it near where the wire was inserted and pulling out the old wires by…

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

If you have a 24" aquarium hood with a standard 18" 15W bulb, it will replace the original ballast. screws right in. Just cut the wires and connect them with nuts with wires of the same color. In fact, it's better than the factory because the originals come in a stamped metal can. This mod is housed in a sealed plastic case. Ignore the 13W power rating as the original was rated for the same power. Watts/Volts = Amps. Only 0.017 ampere difference from 13 to 15 watts.

Pros
  • Input voltage: 120V +/- 10%, 50/60Hz
Cons
  • Not sure

New technologies are the way!

In a fairly old aquarium, the hood light began to flicker. Swapped the hose and starter - to no avail. Those old magnetic ballasts that required a starter were now obsolete and one of these was no longer available for my particular lamp. It is best to use these new electronic ballasts with built-in starters. The wiring is slightly different but two blue on one end and two red on the other end and the power wires to the wire and switch and I'm back in business for half the cost of a new light.

Pros
  • Meets Energy Star 4.0 criteria for listed applications.
Cons
  • It was possible to choose a newer model

but my OCD didn't like it so I deducted a star

Bought to replace a broken aquarium lid ballast and it worked great. The only minor issue is that the orientation of the wires was the opposite of the ballast I was replacing. The wires are long enough so it wasn't a problem, but it looked a bit "dirty" because I had to route the wires in a weird way. This is absolutely not a functional problem, but purely aesthetic. You won't see it once it's all put back together, but my OCD didn't like it so I took a star off. If you don't have OCD, this is…

Pros
  • UL/cUL listed, "P", 1 clear
Cons
  • Long delivery time
