I finally figured it out at my age. They have other straps at home and will probably replace them. Why buy belts with buckles? Save a few bucks and buy something like this. As for this particular one. It is worth the asking price. I have no negative feedback about it (about a month later).

What a piece of Chinese junk. Embossing was almost non-existent. I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s when handcrafted leather belts were all the rage. In comparison, this one should have been thrown in the trash once rolled out of a machine that makes products with poor tooling. Lower my standards and wear this belt. I ordered a belt for a 34" waist and received a 6" shorter belt. God, China, is it really that difficult to switch from metric to imperial?
