- Effective appearance. A lot of people hate it, but I like it. Like the headquarters of the military command of some terrestrial colony. SSD. Some PS5 titles take seconds to launch and load levels. I hope this will become the norm for all games in the future (those who often died in DOOM (2022) or The Witcher 3 will understand). Finally quiet! Under load, the console can only be heard in absolute silence. It's louder than the Series X (which can only be heard by standing next to the device), but quieter than the entire Xbox One family. I am generally silent about Sony consoles. However, there is one nuance (in shortcomings). Cool controller. Pleasant to the touch, the sticks have optimal elasticity, their movement in the extreme position is smooth, without unpleasant friction on the edge of the circle. Improved vibration feedback, when used correctly by game developers, can give pleasant emotions. Adaptive triggers quickly tire the index fingers out of habit, but soon the lack of resistance in games begins to seem outrageous. Support for backward compatibility with the previous generation. You can safely switch to a new console and finish all the games of interest. Comes with ASTRO'S PLAYROOM. A simple but very addictive platformer that takes full advantage of the new controller. I would like to see more such projects. The PlayStation Plus Collection is also a good deal. With a PS Plus subscription, you can get access to twenty worthy games, some of which I did not dare to buy even at a discount.
- If under load the console is almost inaudible, then in standby mode the cooler emits a quiet but unpleasant squeak. I'm already used to it, but at first it was annoying. Very high. On the shelf under the hanging TV, where the consoles of the past and the year before last stood with a large margin in height, the PS5 stood right next to the TV. And in horizontal orientation, it does not look very good. The software is still raw. The console does not know how to resume downloading when an error occurs. Sometimes it may start going into standby mode, which can only be exited by forcibly disconnecting from the outlet. The space on the desktop is used unreasonably: small application icons in the top row, and the application cover takes up the rest of the space. There is not enough opportunity to select power options by holding the PS button - if you please, press the button and move the cursor from the left corner to the right through unnecessary game cards and all control panel elements. Double-clicking on PS launches news - why is this necessary? . In general, the PS4 menu was more convenient, but here we see an unsuccessful attempt to reinvent the wheel. The pricing policy of the company is not encouraging. I did not think that it was Sony who would announce the beginning of the era of 5K gaming, but what happened happened. Apparently, market leaders consider it their duty to start twisting users' hands. The controller grips are covered with very small action button symbols. The idea is interesting, but these symbols are too delicate and easily erased, exposing black plastic underneath.
- Faster loading, better graphics, expandable memory (special M2 slot for installing a high-speed SSD), chic design. DualSense IMHO is more convenient than the PS4 gamepad. A collection of twenty top PS4 games is available for subscribers - almost all of them look more interesting on PS5
- 1. The amount of memory is small, of course (825 Gb). You can't put a lot of hard games. 2. Sony recommends only a couple of models of the most expensive SSDs for installation in the M2 slot, and it’s somehow scary to install an unrecommended one. 3. I had to tinker to buy a prefix for normal money, but these are not questions for PS5.
- Unusual design, gamepad, good, fast and smooth main menu. Fast SSD, the ability to run games in 4K 60FPS.
- There are few decent games at the start. Strange sound of the cooler or coils when under load in games.
- I really like the design, it fits well into my interior, looks solid, quiet even under load, stable console stand. I heard that overheating happens, but I didn’t encounter it myself, apparently because I installed it on the stand that came with it, played demanding games all weekend, in a heated room, the console didn’t heat up.
- There is no tool for tightening the screw from the stand under the console, which would be a nice bonus.
- Everything, real next gene, all games look better than on 4 curling irons. very fast, very quiet, some pluses
- I didn’t find it. I bought it at the start, they write about some fictitious problems, noise, etc. there is nothing, everything works perfectly
- - Exclusive games. Demon's Souls, Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, soon Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7. In general, there is something to play, and almost everything is a masterpiece, especially for fans of singleplayer. - Many old PS4 games have been ated to support 4K 60 fps. There is also something to play, one TLoU Part 2 is worth something. - The graphics in the new games are excellent, and even more pleasing, many of them have a 60 fps mode. If PS3 was 720p 15-30 fps generation, PS4 was 1080p 30 fps generation, then PS5 can pull 4K 60! Ratchet at 60 fps with tracing - it's divine! - The DualSense controller finally doesn't feel like an ergonomic orangutan rattle. It looks dignified, and does not crack in the hand, and is comfortable. The new recoil tokens are cool too. - Silence. Unlike the PS4 and PS3, the new console doesn't overclock like a jet plane in games. True, there is one "but", about him in shortcomings. - Beautiful and responsive user interface. - Extravagant design. He is both a plus and a minus. Plus, because the PS5 can not be confused with anything, but a minus . About the minuses in the "flaws"! - Easy access to the "insides" thanks to removable panels. It will be very easy to clean the dust! - The price is a huge plus. Especially if you manage to buy a PS5 at the RRP (it's not easy, but it's possible). At this price, you can’t even buy one average video card for building a PC, without taking into account all the other components .
- - Design. It stands out too much, does not fit into almost any interior and does not combine with other devices. - Size. The console is huge compared to the PS4, taking up a lot of space even in an upright position due to the stand. - By the way, about the stand. Who came up with this plastic rattle? Looks and feels disgusting, takes up a lot of space. Dislike. - Housing materials. The side panels are not white, but grayish, you can see stains from the outflow of plastic. The black glossy panel scratches from the air and literally absorbs fingerprints (well, this is already a tradition since the PS3). - Lottery of cooling fans. The PS5 comes with fans from different manufacturers: Delta, NMB, and Nidec. The first two are fine, but Nidec is of terrible quality: due to poor centering, it creates a vibration that is transmitted to the body of the console and creates an unpleasant high-frequency resonance, the so-called "UFO sound". This squeak is simply unbearable, even at low speeds it fills the whole room. It is impossible to guess which fan will fall into your console (and not before choosing with the current shortage). Good news: if you, like me, came across Nidec, then this problem can be solved either by replacing the fan yourself with an NMB (I do not advise buying copies of Delta and XRF, they do not gain the required speed and the console may overheat), or by placing rubber rings under the screws the stock fan mounts and slightly loosening them (from the factory they are too tightened, vibrations are transmitted more strongly). But anyway, it's a shame for Sony - reviewers and journalists were given consoles with a "quiet" fan, so that they praised the PS5's noiselessness, and they put it on sale at all (and so everything will be sold out!). - It's hard to buy. But now it's hard to buy.
