I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

If we discard the controversial policy of Sony, the company turned out to be an excellent device. The software, according to a long tradition, will have to be intensively finished for a couple more years, but the main drawback of the hardware component (noisy cooling system) has finally been eliminated. There is no longer a need to buy new revisions in the hope that they will become quieter.

Pros

Effective appearance. A lot of people hate it, but I like it. Like the headquarters of the military command of some terrestrial colony. SSD. Some PS5 titles take seconds to launch and load levels. I hope this will become the norm for all games in the future (those who often died in DOOM (2022) or The Witcher 3 will understand). Finally quiet! Under load, the console can only be heard in absolute silence. It's louder than the Series X (which can only be heard by standing next to the device), but quieter than the entire Xbox One family. I am generally silent about Sony consoles. However, there is one nuance (in shortcomings). Cool controller. Pleasant to the touch, the sticks have optimal elasticity, their movement in the extreme position is smooth, without unpleasant friction on the edge of the circle. Improved vibration feedback, when used correctly by game developers, can give pleasant emotions. Adaptive triggers quickly tire the index fingers out of habit, but soon the lack of resistance in games begins to seem outrageous. Support for backward compatibility with the previous generation. You can safely switch to a new console and finish all the games of interest. Comes with ASTRO'S PLAYROOM. A simple but very addictive platformer that takes full advantage of the new controller. I would like to see more such projects. The PlayStation Plus Collection is also a good deal. With a PS Plus subscription, you can get access to twenty worthy games, some of which I did not dare to buy even at a discount.

Cons

If under load the console is almost inaudible, then in standby mode the cooler emits a quiet but unpleasant squeak. I'm already used to it, but at first it was annoying. Very high. On the shelf under the hanging TV, where the consoles of the past and the year before last stood with a large margin in height, the PS5 stood right next to the TV. And in horizontal orientation, it does not look very good. The software is still raw. The console does not know how to resume downloading when an error occurs. Sometimes it may start going into standby mode, which can only be exited by forcibly disconnecting from the outlet. The space on the desktop is used unreasonably: small application icons in the top row, and the application cover takes up the rest of the space. There is not enough opportunity to select power options by holding the PS button - if you please, press the button and move the cursor from the left corner to the right through unnecessary game cards and all control panel elements. Double-clicking on PS launches news - why is this necessary? . In general, the PS4 menu was more convenient, but here we see an unsuccessful attempt to reinvent the wheel. The pricing policy of the company is not encouraging. I did not think that it was Sony who would announce the beginning of the era of 5K gaming, but what happened happened. Apparently, market leaders consider it their duty to start twisting users' hands. The controller grips are covered with very small action button symbols. The idea is interesting, but these symbols are too delicate and easily erased, exposing black plastic underneath.
