Well I mean you just put it in the PSP, close the PSP door for a few seconds and then take it out. I don't know if it really cleans the laser as I had no problems before using the cleaner and still have no problems after using it. At least that way you feel like you're doing the right maintenance anyway!

I have this along with the UMD cleaner, I have several PSPs along with the Launch model 1000 which has never been clean. Neither of them had any issues, but with the older two (1000/2000) I did notice a slight increase in load times and they didn't seem like they needed to spin the drive that much when streaming, so that's probably a good thing about the battery.
