Well made lightweight hammer

Nicely made, made in USA, good for leather work. Could have easily gotten 5 stars but it's a little lighter than I expected which was a bit more weight. Overall a very good hammer.

Pros
  • Package width: 4.0 in.
Cons
  • Small items

. with this amazing hammer. If you have dogs

We install our laminate floor with this great hammer. If you have dogs, note that the end of the hammer looks like a dog chewer.

Pros
  • Pack length: 29 cm
Cons
  • Some problems

Use it to make knives.

Basically I had a nearly finished knife that I couldn't temper properly so it had to be reheated. I couldn't hit it with my regular hammer because that would make a dent in the surface. Therefore, this rawhide hammer is the perfect choice. I heated the knife, smoothed it without leaving marks on the surface, and hardened it again.

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Use it to make knives.

Basically I had a nearly finished knife that I couldn't sharpen straight so it had to be heat treated again. I couldn't hit it with a regular hammer as that would leave a dent on the surface, so this rawhide hammer is a perfect choice.

Pros
  • Package Width: 4.0"
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

It's a bit strange.

I ordered this for jewelry and ring making. The hammer head is very "plastic" and the head is very hard, strangely stiff. I expected the rawhide hammer to be a bit softer since it's made of rawhide. It leaves marks on almost all of my metals unless it hits them. take what you want It's a very good weight and head size, quality build, just not what I expected. It might break over time.

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Sturdy construction for impact protection without damage

I use this hammer to smooth pieces and soften leather before sewing. Some parts and leather need to have convincing impact without compromising the power delivery. It can be done with other implements, but I like the fit and feel of the rawhide hammer. When used as intended (not as a substitute for a hammer), a hammer is a suitable tool for applications where the impact will not damage or deform the metal tool. It also reduces the force on the cutting edge like a chisel and offers better…

Pros
  • Wood
Cons
  • Crumpled
