I use this hammer for leather work and it meets my expectations in terms of weight and size. A small expense but I think it was worth the money.

This is a great example of how you can pay a little more and get a well-made product that will last for years. I use mine as a launch bullet for my muzzleloader, but it can be used in many applications where a light, non-scratching hammer is needed. I sincerely expect to pass this on to the next generation.

I use it on my forging projects when I need to bend/straighten metal that has twists or other parts that can be damaged with a regular hammer. So far it's holding up great and it's made it a lot easier for me to make small edits to my subjects without ruining the detail and textures. I wish the head was a little bigger, but overall no complaints.

It was just what I needed to avoid damaging my dies, gouges and sets, basically everything you use and need to hammer in leatherworking. I give it 4 stars but it was by no means perfect. I've sanded the handle to remove the roughness, the rawhide is nice and firm and feels really good in the hand, especially after sanding. I recommend this tool and it will work for you if you don't mind a little rework.

Head quality is good; no complaints there. The problem is that although the handle is slightly oval, it doesn't fit the head properly. This makes it difficult to hit directly with a hammer. It's subtle, hard to tell just by looking at it. When I first started using it, it tended to curl up slightly in my hand on impact.
