Doesn't always beep

To be fair I've driven the Garmin RVR315 over 150 miles on four separate trips. The device certainly adds another layer of security and mostly lets you know about a vehicle approaching from behind. I'll explain in a moment. It integrates well with my bike GPS (Hammerhead Karoo) and provides visual and audible alerts via Bluetooth. It is most effective in rural areas and can make a car stand out very nicely. There are so many cars in urban areas that you will be overwhelmed with warnings, so…

Pros
  • Radar detector
Cons
  • Slightly dented

If you drive on country roads you NEED this

I have a very good helmet mirror so I didn't think I really need it. Then my brother bought one and was amazed at how well it worked. While I wasn't sure if it would really help that much, I want to maximize the odds in my favor, so I bought it on my brother's recommendation. I use it with a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt bike computer and it works great. It was very easy to install on my bike computer both physically and wirelessly. On my first drive, I was driving through the streets of a residential city

Pros
  • Car electronics accessory
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

3 star mount, 5 star product but there is an alternative mount!

First of all, note that there are other versions of Varia radars with built-in lights. I had one and sold it on eBay out of frustration. No bike computer manufacturer EXCEPT Garmin supports ANT+ lights. Second, if you search the web, you will see many people who are frustrated with how Garmin is handling the Lite version of this product. As for me, I've tried all the "tricks" suggested on their forums, but basically I couldn't get the light to work unless I unplug and painstakingly fix it…
