Full version it's not Gates it's MOTORRAD

Thought I'd buy a good quality Gates thermostat. The thermostat says the MOTORRAD is garbage. I will replace it with a STANT and never buy a Gates thermostat again.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost never

Wrong o-ring suitable for engine cooling and air conditioning

O-ring missing on tongue. If that's wrong, then what's wrong? I'm not going to put this in my jeep only to find out it's wrong. Why take the risk? I know it's only one tab, but this tab is where you set the thermostat properly. If not, it doesn't work. WHY do they send it without a tab when the tab is in the picture? Now I have to find it somewhere else and return this junk.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging

Not the same as in the picture. Fits thermostats

I've been looking for this thermostat for a long time and really thought I had found it. As you can see in the picture they used for their 33919 Gates thermostat, you can see that the bottom has a pointed protrusion. This is the thermostat I was trying to buy. However, the part they sent me was blunt at the bottom and didn't protrude. So this is the wrong part and the picture they use is also wrong.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • A few little things

overheating! Engine Cooling & Climate Control

Buyer Attention! Not what is in the picture! You can't just stick any old style thermostat in a Jeep Liberty as it must have a needle on the back like you see in this picture. It has what the OEM calls a "gallery” to quickly bring the engine up to operating temperature. If that "gallery" isn't obscured by a pin on the back of this thermostat, guess what?! He's overheated! So when ordering, make sure that whoever sends you the part can guarantee that it is exactly as shown in the picture!
