🔧 Gates 41013 High-Quality Engine Water Pump Review

Need a new water pump for my Focus 02. I have had good luck with Gates products in the past. This one is no different. Works great so far.

The pump appears to be working and in brand new condition but as others have indicated they received the o-ring/gasket I am not happy with the overall purchase.

I bought this for my 2003 SVT Focus. It was the perfect match. It comes with a new rubber gasket and new screws. New screws are always an advantage. Thank you for reading my review.

The outer edge of the pump pulley was not machined or cast to the correct diameter. This made the pulley wobble. I had to remove the pump to see what the problem was. Had an open pulley diameter. This results in an additional 2 hours of work to figure out the problem and then find a solution. Must have just bought one from NAPA. Worrying about buying from Amazon wasn't worth the saving.

This water pump fits my Focus SVT perfectly. I'm having trouble getting the old one out of the car. You should try raising and lowering the engine until you find the best spot to remove the old water pump and install the new one. This part was fitted when replacing the timing belt on a 2003 SVT Focus. This part fits perfectly and appears to work just as well as the OEM part that was removed. I have driven 1000 miles on this part and am happy with my purchase. No leaks or temperature issues. Be careful not to damage the threads in the cylinder block when reinstalling and tightening the 4 bolts holding the pump. The Ford claims 158 in/lb (14 ft/lb) of torque, which is way too much for such a small thread. I tightened mine
