Gates 43552 Water Pump Review

The seal was loose in the box and arrived damaged. The original gasket is metal, but this one is not. Came back and ordered the count well packaged with the metal seal.

UPDATE: 7/10/2016 When I left my first comment, I was upset when I saw it without a first tap and was able to get started right away. If you don't have a problem tapping yourself, then this isn't a bad item at all. As you know, Gates is a good and reliable company. I found out that Autozone allows customers to borrow screws/tools from their stores for free.

The water pump arrived in good condition, the seal was destroyed in the bottom of the box, it had to be replaced. I installed the water pump and noticed that two of the accessory belt tensioner screw holes were unthreaded. So I had to tap the M8x1.25 thread into the holes. Added another 15 minutes to the job. You'd think Gates would have quality control in place to check things as simple as operations.
