brighter than a 65W incandescent lamp

Compared to a 65W incandescent lamp (see photo), the LED lamp is both brighter and more diffuse. It's not that noticeable in the photo, but in my opinion, with the dimmer on, the room looks a lot brighter than it ever did with the old bulbs. These LED bulbs dim to about 25% of full wattage and do not flicker. An old style incandescent bulb will dim a lot more, maybe up to 5% on this dimmer, but I never need that much dimming.

Pros
  • Dimmable
Cons
  • Only available in black

Another item damaged due to poor packaging

Looks well made, brightness level is right. Please in general. The box Revain used was too big and the box also had a brass doorknob. One of the boxes with LED lamps was badly damaged, the threaded end of one lamp was so damaged that it could not be screwed into the socket. I had a "poorly packaged" item that arrived broken or damaged while on the phone with Revane more than once, more than twice. It never gets better. Time is money, they work the best there (sort of) replacing or returning…

Pros
  • Estimated Annual Electricity Cost $1.20 @ 3 hours per day $0.11/kWh
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Not compatible with Lutron wireless dimmers

Your bulbs worth a look. I installed them in my basement and while the light itself is fine, the incompatibility with Lutron wireless dimmers forced me to deduct a star. I bought several Philips BR30, 65W Equivalent, 2700K at the same time and they worked much better. I didn't hear any buzzing from the Philips bulbs even when dimmed. The hum of the GE bulbs was very noticeable. As an added bonus, Philips lamps use less power (7.5W vs. GE's 10W). While you get 6 Philips bulbs for the price of 8…

Pros
  • 65W replacement at only 10W, pack of 8 bulbs
