Yes I know they're 25 watt bulbs but they barely glow. My night light is brighter. The tiny light on my cable box is brighter. I think my teeth can be brighter than those lightbulbs.

I have just received these GE bulbs (made in China) and found that they are NOT true amber; They are definitely redder and emit more red light. It's not the relaxing light we've enjoyed over the years. In the image below, the yellow bulb is at the top and the newer version is at the bottom.

These are reddish pinks, not warm amber honeys. BULBRITE has true amber bulbs, although their price increased a few years ago and is quite expensive now. I thought I'd give GE a second chance just to hate the light as much as I used to. I only use one as an evening light over the stove so the price is ok but about $6 each. currently.

Do not buy. You are terrible. I've been using amber bulbs for years and these are by far the worst I've ever had. They burn out so quickly it's hardly worth putting them in a lamp. The amber bulbs I had before had a very long life - of course I want to remember which brand because it's definitely not their fault. It is also a very dark amber. It suits me, it's just not a fact that they burn out that quickly.

I loved these bulbs when I first used them as a night light in my living room. They dim the perfect amount of light so you don't have to turn on the big bulb when you get home late or get up in the middle of the night. Only thing is they didn't last very long. If you used them 8-9 hours a day, the first burned out after a month and a half, and the second did not last. The bulbs I had before lasted over a year and weren't that expensive.

Bulbs like the picture are hard to find. I have gold bulbs called amber even with GE numbers that used to match the prints on the bulbs that look like dark amber. I also looked for GE part numbers with bulbs printed in dark yellow and found a fluorescent bulb. These lamps are very expensive, that's why I gave them 4 stars. One more thing: I found some cheaper lamps that looked like dark amber lamps. but I decided to call them to make sure it was exactly the dark amber they had in mind. I wanted
