Dimmer noise is the best incandescent bulb

These bulbs have a very audible hum/electrical hum when switched on with a standard incandescent bulb dimmer. This was not the case with earlier lamps in the GE Reveal range.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll write later

Bought in October. 5 have burned out in the last 4 days.

I bought them in October 2018. 5 exploded in different rooms of my house starting about 4 days ago. It doesn't seem to matter if lightbulbs are used a lot or not. It was a coincidence.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • unreliable

Not the quality I remember for a disclosure bulb

A few months ago I took 8 packs and I've already lost 3 of them. The color brilliance and white produced are still impressive, although the quality didn't impress me. I will be contacting GE to see if they offer a warranty on their lamps.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Useless features

Not the same Reveal

As others have said it must be a newer style. The bulbs are completely white, not with a bluish tinge as in previous years. The product description says blue bulbs and original packaging, these are not the bulbs or packaging you will receive. It's either a new style or a fake.

Pros
  • A few competitors
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Dear Reveal lamps.: Incandescent lamps

I have been a fan of Reveal lamps for many years. I know they have changed the design of the filament over the years but the quality of the light has stayed the same. I don't think they last longer than a regular bulb, but the quality/color of the light is what these bulbs are best for. They're getting harder and harder to find as CFLs or LEDs become more popular for other reasons, but while reveals are still being made I'll buy them.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

Nice color - Bulbs

Bulbs have a very nice color. Whiter than traditional 2700k budget bulbs, but still cozy. It really helps the colors of your home shine more than just a simple lightbulb. There is no weird color distortion that some CFLs and LEDs cause. My bedroom has the sterile feel of a model home with these lamps. Lightbulbs are ridiculously low in energy efficiency. They are very hot to the touch, so try airing them out. They last about 2.5 months with 10 hours of use per day.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Some bugs

The seller sends a new version of the lamp that is different

Unfortunately GE has changed its Reveal lamps. :-( I used to like dip bulbs but they must have changed their manufacture recently. The new version makes a buzzing noise when they use the dimmer. I tested one of the older model bulbs and there was no buzz. My dad could do that Didn't hear any hum but I definitely could. And I would go crazy using this new lamp model.light blue and the packaging is shown on the seller's product page. The new version the seller sent me is dark blue and has an…
