My GE dishwasher was not working. After reading that others had similar issues with the same model of dishwasher, I purchased and installed a new latch assembly. The dishwasher started working immediately after installing the part. Installation was easy but not plug and play it seems as I had to open the assembly to connect the wires. Nothing complicated, just be careful not to crack the case. That's why the rating is 4 stars and not 5.

Not much to say, our 10 year old dishwasher broke and I assumed it was the switch. The dishwasher would "turn off" when closed and go into a "ready" state when opened. After figuring out what was wrong and looking for a replacement, all I had to do was turn off the switch and then replace it. Took maybe 15 minutes, worked great from the start. I am considering buying a second one in case it is discontinued in the next 10 years.

One day the dishwasher stopped in the middle of a cycle and started beeping. I turned it off and on again but still couldn't stop the beeping. After some troubleshooting and research online, I found that the beep is an indicator that the dishwasher thinks the door is open (when it was actually closed and locked). Hubby looked at it and decided the switch was bad. I ordered the part (one day I could get prime shipping if I spent over $35) and the next day he replaced it and we're back in business. I can't tell you how happy we were that we spent less than $18 to fix our GE dishwasher!
