GE WD7X14 Dishwasher Including Eyelet Review

Installed a couple of these on my Hotpoint HDA105Y070WH dishwasher. Installation was easy, only took a few minutes and now the dishwasher door opens normally again.

Our units are 30 years old and we have just retired. This cable broke and luckily my slippery husband decided to look here for the part. Worked like clockwork😊

These cables are the perfect replacement. I was surprised they still exist given the age of the dishwasher. I was just lucky that the old door broke while the door was already down otherwise this heavy door would have been damaged when standing upright and collapsed when the old cable snapped. They were pretty easy to replace. highlighted.

Does the job although I don't know how long they will last as I just installed a pair. I found it easiest to first hook the ends of the cable through the door hinges, then attach the two springs to one end of the cable, and finally attach the springs to the other cable. The final step requires tensioning the springs so they have some tension when at rest, but I was able to do this fairly easily using just my hands. I have changed this part 9-10 times. (Dishwasher is the original that came with the house. I suspect something is wrong with the door opening/limiting mechanism, which is allowing the door to open too far before it stops, putting extra stress on the cable and spring counterweight parts. ) It's pretty easy to replace and this part is the same as the original. The dishwasher manufacturer's design makes this part prone to breakage as the single hole/eyelet end attaches to the bolt head and the cable is bent about 90 degrees where it runs along the plastic/ Nylon pulley runs . This reel doesn't have a cable groove and I'm surprised it has lasted all these years.
