This is indeed a factory OEM thermostat however there is a rebranded Aisin label above the Honda label. With a little searching you can save $20, buy Aisin from Revain and get the exact same part. Hope this helps someone.

high quality factory thermostat. I first ordered a "safe type" that won't open. It looked like a toy and decided not to install it after comparing it to the original I just removed. Did this during a timing belt change on a 2006 Acura MDX and all replaced parts looked new after 115,000 miles.

There can be problems with aftermarket thermostats so I decided to buy a genuine part. I think I can spend a few extra bucks on an Acura part by doing the work myself. It was worth it. Removing the thermostat housing can be tricky, but there is a YouTube video showing how to do it. It also helps to have a set of short wrenches as there isn't much room to loosen the rear bolt.

As described, genuine Acura thermostat and gasket. Works great especially after installing the ECT sensor with it. This sensor was nowhere to be found except at an Acura dealer, nor was it available in my city. Had to drive to a nearby town and worst of all was the cost of $83.75. By the way, ECT is about half the size of a spark plug and smaller than a temperature sensor. A good reason to avoid expensive cars.
