original part. Easy to install but horrible design

The design of this part is a shame on Honda. The plastic pin that the latch presses on inevitably breaks, because when the lock is locked, the metal handle shears off the plastic pin. It will definitely break again.

Pros
  • Genuine OEM
Cons

Fixed Odyssey glove box not opening

Odyssey glove box stuck and could not be opened. Wasn't locked. I purchased this item and it was a quick fix. Many videos on the net show how to do it. color matched. Fast and cheap repairs. They even swap out the lock cylinder so YOUR key still works.

Pros
  • Glove box organizer
Cons
  • Some cons

Very easy installation in consoles and organizers

Works exactly as intended. Saw a video on YouTube that talks about the extremely easy removal of "old" and "new" installations. The key cylinder is not included, but can be easily removed and reinstalled. This way you don't have to get new keys. It took about 15 minutes total time.

Easy replacement to save on dealer fees + lock removal tip

Honda LOCK ASSEMBLY, GLOVE BOX (ATLAS GRAY) is Honda stock code 77540-SHJ-A01ZE. I would verify the part needed locally through your Honda dealer using your VIN number. To remove the lock to install the replacement part you will need to remove the C-clip after removing the plastic casing around the lock. This is very easy to do, as you can see in the pictures, with needle-nosed pliers. Unfortunately, Revain doesn't allow you to place images in an order, so you'll have to tinker around, but…

Pros
  • Consoles and organizers
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
